I’m back in Vancouver after an amazing trip to Louisiana (New Orleans & Shreveport). I’ve wanted to see New Orleans for a long time, especially after reading about it in Anne Rice’s novel “Exit To Eden” (terrible movie but a decent book.)
I love New Orleans! Historic…& haunted? Hmmm:-)
I went to the notorious haunted house “The House Of Shock”, did a “Haunted New Orleans” walking tour, a swamp tour to see Gators, plus the historic Voo Doo museum, the Pharmacy Museum, The Katrina Hurricane exhibit, the WW2 museum and the oldest convent in the US. Meg & I also did a road trip to Shreveport.
Meg & I went to the WW2 museum. I highly recommend it.

I also listened to great music, ate delicious food & had numerous interactions with charming & friendly locals. I loved walking around the French Quarter looking at the beautiful old buildings & learning about its fascinating history.

Meg & I did a road trip to Shreveport & found the crumbling parts of the city scenic…& sometimes unusual…

Lastly I’ll mention a memorable experience we had at the Sunday night market on Frenchman Street just on the edge of the French Quarter in New Orleans. We spotted a women with a typewriter & a sign saying “Smut While U Wait”. Here’s what she does at her little spot on Frenchman street…& what she did for each of us: she spends a few minutes interviewing you, asking questions about your sexual interests & other things, it kind of felt like going to confession or a therapist (in a good way)…then she sends you away for 20 minutes while she types up a smutty story custom just for you. She then gives you the option of having her read it out loud…in private or in front of your friends. Well, Ceara, Meg & I all took our turns listening to a very personal, custom sexy story written for each of us. Thrilling…and rather intimate, when you think about it. Certainly one of the most uniquely memorable experiences from this trip!
