New digs: more space for film sets!

It’s the Saturday night before Halloween, arguably the biggest party night of the year next to New Year’s. Every year that I can remember I would have been getting all decked out in a costume with friends, having drinks & heading to some big party.

But not this year.

It’s not that I didn’t have options. Weeks ago friends were reminding me to get tickets to the big fetish party or sex club party as they always sell out fast. I was invited to go to Seattle to meet up with some of my fav peers in the industry. I even realized this morning that there’s a fantastic house party just a 26 minute walk from my place, I wouldn’t even need to figure out transportation. It couldn’t be easier.

You see, it’s been a busy time. It IS a busy time. And taking some down time tonight is self care. I probably wouldn’t have done it a few years ago but I’m 41, I’m starting to be nicer to myself & frankly, I don’t have the energy I once did. I bet a lot of you get that, at least those over 35.

So why am I so busy? I recently moved. Everyone knows what that’s like. It all happened kind of fast. My landlord was selling the apartment I’d lived in the last few years & my noisy upstairs neighbor was driving me nuts. I found another place that was really great & I just did it. I did it even though I knew it would be hard. I knew it would be hard because the new place needs a lot of work & I’m about to head out of town on a couple big personal trips. Some of you might know about Africa in December, but I’m also doing a personal trip to Mexico in November. These trips were planned long before I even thought about moving.

Everything is fine. Great really. Just a lot on my plate right now. Some of that has been to prepare to take another break from the biz to work on the book. I find it difficult to write while I have my “Mistress T” hat on so most of my writing has been done while taking work breaks for a month or two. My editor & I have been working away on the book for months but now it’s time for me to dig into her edits, flesh out a few parts & put the finishing touches on it. I’m really hoping that my time in Mexico will be good for that because I really want to get this damn book done!

Good news for fans of my vids. I’ve been busy the last few months filming some fantastic content for you. I was going over the upcoming list today & I’m really excited. Rivers of cum will be produced because of my vids in the coming months. Ha ha.

I’ve been getting my new sets ready so I can start filming when I’m back in January. Old dog, new tricks.

What I’m NOT into.

Let’s have a frank chat…

I just tweeted asking for blog suggestions & someone requested ‘capnolagnia’ which I had to google. That’s the fancy term for smoking fetish.

Book update…

Some of you know that I took a few months off last winter to start writing a book. I went to Thailand & made quite a lot of progress before my trip was cut short & I needed to return to Nova Scotia due to a death in the family.

I still had some time to write back in Vancouver before I got back to filming & editing but after that my writing got stalled. I thought I could work & write but it didn’t turn out that way. Months went by & I didn’t write a word. So I pushed to build up enough content so I could take a few months off from filming & editing again.

I’m about half way through my second & current break & I’m pleased to say that I’ve been writing like a mother fucker! I’ve made huge progress & am in the last end of the first draft of my book. There’s still a lot of work to be done before you will have an opportunity to read my book but the hardest part is nearly done.

The book is a ‘fiction’ based very closely on my life. VERY closely. It tells the story of the making of Mistress T from the beginning, from before I was even born actually. All the ingredients that went into the final product. Those with interests in psychology will likely find lots to think about. I wanted to have the freedom to embellish or omit things here & there as well as add a bit of creative writing (completely fabricate some parts) so I decided to not make it an autobiography…but again, the vast majority of the story is 100% true.

Now that it’s nearing the end my excitement is really building. I decided to write this book for me, to process some of the things that happened to me in earlier life & understand how they contributed, for better or worse, to the adult I am. I saw writing as a kind of therapy. Now that it is taking shape & I’ve spoken to a handful of experts, it’s possible that this book could become quite successful…which would be a nice bonus.

I’ll soon hire an editor & others to help move through the next steps. I’ll likely self publish but will still need a team of professionals to assist with the process, a designer, a good marketing company, a studio to record an audio book, etc. I am starting to look for the right people & companies so if you have recommendations please send them my way. (I am looking for those top in their field & I have a budget for it.)

Though I should have enough content to get me through I want a bit more of a cushion so I will be doing a couple days of filming in the next couple weeks. How To Email A Pro Domme

Step 1. Remove BOTH of your hands from your genitals. One of the biggest mistakes guys make is trying to send an email while in a heightened state of arousal while typing with one hand. This often results in spelling & grammar mistakes as well as coming across like a buffoon.

Step 3. After you’ve done your research if it still makes sense to contact her be brief & clear in your communication. Keep the flowery compliments to a minimum & get to the point. Step 6. Don’t pester. Don’t send dozens of emails in a row, a few minutes apart. You’ll look like a psycho. Give her a day or two to respond. Who am I?

This blog was set up for you to get to know me more intimately…& on twitter recently I invited fans to ask me questions that I would answer on my blog. It seems there is a lot of interest in learning more about me, the woman behind Mistress T. So here’s a bunch of random stuff, using your questions as a guide.

What are you passionate about? I am a feminist, vegetarian, animal-lover, atheist. I’m passionate about human-rights issues & equality. I’m anti-discrimination, I have ZERO tolerance for racism, homophobia, sexism, etc. I’m concerned about environmental issues & do what I can to reduce my impact.

How do you stay in shape? I’m blessed with good genes but I also eat very carefully (no meat, very little sugar, deep fried foods or processed foods, easy on the carbs, etc.) I do yoga, recently started doing aqua-fit & I walk a lot.

Trump or Hillary? I’m Canadian so can’t vote in the US election but I would NOT vote for Trump because he would be a disastrous choice no matter how you look at it. Period.

Would you be submissive? I’ve often been asked if I would ever consider “switching” & trying being submissive. If you read my blog from the beginning there is a part where I talk about dabbling as a submissive in my early days in fetish, at parties, way before I got into private sessions or video. I had already lived away from my family for 9 years, had invested in real estate, traveled the world & demonstrated I was able to make smart decisions for myself. They didn’t worry about me. As long as I was healthy & happy they didn’t judge. Which leads me to the other question I get a lot…

What will you do AFTER porn??? As the years go by I get this question more & more. I am 40 now & have been in the adult industry for a decade so I understand why some folks are checking my expiry date & exit strategy. There is a cliche about women in the porn industry being reckless with their money & having expensive habits (drinking, drugs, gambling, leech boyfriends, etc.). We’re not all like that. In fact, most of my peers are careful with their finances. In my case, I started investing in my retirement in my early 20’s, I invested in real estate before I turned 30. Financial security has always been a priority for me & I’ve been smart and lucky. When I am done with porn I’m not sure what I’ll do but I’m not worried. I’ll still want to keep busy & productive. I’ll have transferable skills & will find something I enjoy. At this time I’m trying to get a book written & I’ve started the free T-Time Sex Ed series. My future might include more writing, education, speaking engagements, advice columnist, performing in some other way, something that helps people, animals or the environment…money won’t be the main motivator so I’ll have the freedom to do what I enjoy with less concern about finances.

I think if your biggest complaint is the too many girls want you to be their friend but don’t want to fuck you than you should consider yourself pretty lucky in life. Think about it. If a real romantic relationship that includes sex is what you’re after try looking for women who you have things in common with & accept those friendships while being open to them developing into more, without expectation. All kinds of different people find partners, you can too, but in the mean time be good to yourself & appreciate what you already have.

Rumors of my retirement have been greatly exaggerated.

I have no plans or intentions to retire in the near future.

That could be the end of this blog post, but I’ll expand on it.

Apparently there has been some rumors circulating that I will soon retire. The only reason I can think of for the rumors is a possible misunderstanding regarding the short break I took several months ago to start writing my book.

By the way, there has not been much progress on the book since I returned to work so it looks like I’ll have to schedule more breaks from work & write in chunks as it does not seem possible to do both simultaneously.

But taking breaks for 1-3 months once or twice a year is not the same as retiring!

I have been Mistress T for about a decade and I recently turned 40. In this biz both of those milestones are significant. Most female performers in adult films do not stay in the industry that long & most are not doing it into their 40’s.

I still love it though & it’s the best job I’ve had. I love running my own business, working for myself, having full control over things & the freedom to create work life balance however I choose. I did my time in my 20’s working more traditional 9-5 jobs in the vanilla world & I would not go back to it. Working for other people, dealing with office politics, following other people’s rules…it wasn’t for me.

So what will I do after this? I honestly don’t know & I don’t feel like I need to know yet. I have no plans to retire any time soon but I have been careful with my money & I have a lot of transferable skills. I’ll have more options than the cliche 30 year old ex porn star with no other job experience or education who didn’t save any money.

I have been working less the last year & that will continue. I put a lot of time & energy into building this business for years. I practically lived out of a suitcase traveling internationally to film & session. I’ve done all my own filming & editing, answered my own emails, written my blog posts, managed my own social media, marketing & all the other small & big things that business owners do. I’ve been rewarded & have the business built up to the point where I don’t need to put in as much time for it to keep chugging along. Sure, I could make more money doing more web cam & sessions, producing more content, etc…& I know my fans desperately wish I toured the world constantly so they could session with me in their city…but the personal expense of that extra money is too great. My physical & emotional/mental health is worth more. At this time, I am happier living a quieter life in Vancouver, working less, enjoying other aspects of life more.

But I am not planning to retire! Working less probably means that ya’ll will have me around for longer.

So if you want to meet me, you have 2 choices but both are expensive unfortunately. You can come to Vancouver…or you can possibly bring me to you. I am not keen to travel these days BUT if I’m compensated very well AND I feel interested & comfortable, it’s possible. My birthday is coming up!

Why on earth would I be announcing my birthday? Presents, of course! I’m not really into Financial Domination but I’m not going to pass up an opportunity to get presents, gifts, offerings, goodies, treats, etc. Who doesn’t like getting presents?! *grin*

My birthday is April 29th & it’s the big 4-0 for me this time. I know, I look fantastic for my age & I feel fantastic too. Healthy diet, yoga, lots of walking, great sex, keeping things low stress, getting decent sleep…always striving for balance.

I have big plans for this year. Rather than celebrating with a birthday dinner or party I’ve made a list of “40 awesome things to do in my 40th year”…so that I mark this milestone year with a lot of memorable & meaningful things. The list contains some obvious activities like skydiving & paragliding but also things like “helping a young woman reach a goal”, volunteering & a minimum of 12 random acts of kindness. I included “finish my book” so for those wondering when my book will be done…I’m hoping by this time next year.

Relaxing in Phoenix…

I write this from sunny Phoenix in a comfortable apartment I rented for a couple of weeks. I’ll soon head out to the Jacuzzi & maybe take a swim in the heated pool. Not sure it’s hot enough for that today, we’ll see.

I can relax…see! 🙂

I’ve only been in Phoenix for a couple of days & I haven’t seen much yet. After moving around so much (7 places in 2 weeks!) I was ready to just chill, read, make love in the middle of the day, eat at home & sleep. I’m reading “Sex At Dawn” in case you’re interested…& I’ve been watching “Blacklist” on Netflix.

It was quite an action-packed 2 weeks. Lots of visits with friends, lots of beautiful terrain, discovering new places, etc. I filmed some fantastic content in Vegas with Slave Wade, who Lexi Sindel graciously loaned to me. Sharing is caring!

I almost had a session in Vegas but that didn’t work out at planned. I only accept the occasional generous booking these days & I always require a deposit. Any Pro Domme will tell you that guys who book sessions often flake out, cancel, chicken out, etc. It’s just part of the business. Even when they make a deposit they’ll often jam out but it does make those incidents less irritating.

So I accepted a booking with a deposit & arrived at the clients hotel early to enjoy the spa & to have a snack with my boyfriend in the cafe. A half an hour before the session the client emailed to say that he was so nervous he’d given himself an upset tummy so needed to cancel. I told him that he should at least come say hello & not miss the opportunity to meet me. He said he was on his way down.

I waited. I finished my food & paid. He hadn’t shown up. I emailed to say I was leaving & he said he was just too nervous to meet me. As I was leaving I saw a shifty guy looking at me funny. I paused long enough to give him a chance to say hello. He didn’t. I figured it was him but what was I to do? I walked away as he was emailing me to please come back & give him another chance. I didn’t but he sent more money for wasting my time.

What do you think about that?

Here’s a blast from the past. When I was a newbie Domme (nearly a decade ago) I used to go to cities like Calgary & do these crazy marathon work days. Holed up in a basic 3 star hotel room for a few days seeing 6-9 clients a day (1-2 hour sessions). I had a limited offering & hotel rooms were not equipped like dungeons so my sessions were often similar. Tying guys to beds or chairs, CBT/NT, sensory deprivation, golden showers, foot/boot worship and a whole lot of strap-on. I used to get reviewed on a popular review site & after one of these trips 3 different guys gave almost identical reviews. Oops. *smile*

Those days are behind me. No more assembly line sessions. I take them when I’m in the mood, when I think I’ll enjoy someone & when the money is compelling enough. I confess, I get a rush out of being offered a lot of money for a little of my time & attention. Maybe there’s a bit of a Financial Domme in me after all?

So here I am in Phoenix, trying to set up filming in the next couple of weeks. I know I can only relax for so long before getting antsy. I thrive on being productive and I want to film. My happy place is in front of the camera. I have a couple of guys lined up this week but I don’t count my chickens until their hatched. I haven’t had as many applicants as I would have liked. Not yet anyway. Frankly, I’m surprised…although it seems that the more famous I become the more intimidated guys get. The nervous Vegas guy isn’t the first one to chicken out like that.

I’m just a nice, normal person in real life. I’m really fun to film with, nothing to be scared of.

Okay, maybe be a little scared:-)

After Phoenix we’re heading to Joshua Tree & Palm Springs for about 10 days then doing a faster road trip back up to Vancouver. Probably not stopping long enough anywhere on the way home to see anyone, but it’s a road trip after all, which allows more flexibility.

Oh, the intrigue!

I recently received an email from a mysterious admirer. He explained that he had been a fan for years & with little notice found himself in Vancouver for a couple of days. He asked if I would join him for breakfast the next day at the restaurant at his hotel. He explained that discretion was paramount. He had created that email address for this one use & it would not be checked so if I was able to come just arrive at 11am & tell the hostess I was meeting a gentleman. If I was not able to join him he understood.

He also offered a generous ‘honorarium’ for the pleasure of my company & made it clear that he was only interested in conversation.

Naturally, I was intrigued.

I arrived at the opulent hotel, went to the restaurant, told the hostess I was meeting a gentleman, she said she was expecting me & guided me to a concealed booth tucked away in the back.

It was all so very cliche, it made me laugh.

I found myself sitting across from a man most of you would likely know. Awestruck, I tried to stay composed. I understand too well how uncomfortable fame can be. He was disarming, charming, a perfect gentleman. I soon forgot who I thought he was & got to know who he really is. He had been reading my blog for years & was more of a fan of that than my vids. He confessed that he really wasn’t into most of what I create. We talked about what he did like & more about what he didn’t understand. Why some men are into some of the more extreme things that I do. We talked about politics, he was amused at how passionate I am about Canadian & American politics…we talked about charities & he expressed his amazement at my Kiva micro-loan (for free porn) idea.

He told me that he has long had an interest in fetish literature & that the main reason he wanted to meet me was to encourage me to write a book. He felt that I had the skill & the experience to produce something so much better than the insulting rubbish of 50 Shades of Grey.

It was a wonderful meeting, one I’ll never forget.

With Canadian Thanksgiving just this past weekend I’d like to express my gratitude for my awesome life. For having the opportunities to meet very interesting people & have fascinating conversations. For having a business that gives me the flexibility to live my life however I want. I am grateful for the special people in my life, for my health, for living in a safe, clean place.
