I’ve been in this biz for over a decade & have been successful where many others have not. It seems a shame to hoard all this experience & knowledge.

The hardest part about the biz is getting started. The learning curve is sharp & getting noticed in a sea of competition is problematic.

I can help with those two things. I can help get things set up, she can even use my stuff until she gets her own (camera, lights, editing software, wardrobe, props, sets, film slaves, etc.). I can promote her to my established fan base. That’s key.

Who would be ideal? A mini-me. Someone who looks similar to me, but younger. Probably 25-30, give or take.

She should have raw talent, a gift of the gab, public speaking or acting experience. I pretty much never shut up in my vids. I’m very verbal so if I’m going to promote someone to my fans I think it’s best that she is as similar to me as possible. I know a lot of gals have tried to copy my verbals. So far I haven’t seen anyone do it convincingly well. I can teach some techniques but there has to be raw talent to build on.

She should be in a place in her life to commit to this. I did it full time from the start & put in the hours. This is a full time commitment, but the money will be worth it. After 3-5 years you can work less, but you’ve got to build the business & fan base first.

She must WANT to do this job. It will eat your soul if you only do it for the money. You don’t have to be into every fetish or even any fetish, maybe you just love performing/acting or you get a kick out of making guys do things. Whatever your motivation, it must not be only about money.

She must have her head screwed on straight. I’m looking for a strong, confident, ambitious, independent bad ass bitch. You don’t have to be perfect to be a bad ass bitch who can rock this job. I have struggled with life stuff & mental health issues over the years but I was driven enough to make it look pretty seamless to the outside world. The show must go on. The flexible hours make this a great option for some who struggle with personal issues but you have to be functional enough & self-motivated enough to get what needs to be done, done, on a regular basis.

I think it makes sense to do this training in person (not over cam). I even have a spare room in my house. I have no idea how to ensure I’m fairly compensated for the incredible opportunity I’m offering but I suppose we can cross that bridge if the right candidate presents herself. I’m obviously not offering this for free.

About 8 months ago I decided to hire an assistant. After doing everything myself for years & seeing some of my peers outsource or have assistance with various aspects of the business I decided to give it a go.

I admit, I was feeling a bit at the end of my rope with email. It is overwhelming & so much of it can be answered with my FAQ but when I tried an auto-responder fans hated it & it created a massive junk mail problem.

The video & photo editing I really enjoy but it’s not the best use of my time. I felt I could benefit from increased tweeting as well as having someone try to put a dent in the colossal amount of stolen content being shared on free sites. The person could also screen my emails, sending the appropriate link with the information if it were one of the usual questions & just sending me the ones that needed my personal attention.

The first person I hired didn’t work out after several months. Although they seemed to be able to do the job tasks well enough after a lot of time invested in training they had miscalculated how busy their lives were. They just didn’t have time to do the job and the work wasn’t getting done on time.

I learned from the first experience and was more careful with the second hire. I painted the worst picture of the job to try to ensure they knew what they were signing up for. The reality is that you’re saturated in sexual & pornographic material. From reading the words in emails to seeing the images while editing pics, vids or looking for pirated content on free sites. The product is porn, the way it would be food in a restaurant or automobiles in a car dealership.

My second hire felt confident this wouldn’t be a problem but they have just capitulated, resigned, sounding traumatized, mentioning having nightmares from it all.

You could chalk it up as their problem, that they shouldn’t have taken the job if they didn’t think they could handle it…but that’s not giving the issue the contemplation it deserves.

Many of you reading this love porn, certainly the porn I produce. The idea of getting paid to work with it, to edit my vids & pics, to tweet about it, to look for it on free sites, might seem highly appealing. I deliberately did not hire someone who was ‘into’ my porn because I thought that would cause other problems, but I didn’t account for how unpleasant it might be for someone who was not into it.

One of my peers has had her content edited by a gay man for years & I’ve spoken to him about it, he just thinks it’s all funny. I made the mistake of assuming that would be the default, that if someone wasn’t turned on by it, that they would just find it funny or not be affected by it. To be fair, the damage was not done by my vids but more by looking for my content on free sharing sites to get removed. Seeing all that other porn too. But I had naively thought that was one of the easier parts of the job. Not so.

So I’m back to doing everything myself. I won’t make the mistake of trying to hire an assistant again. On top of that I’m at the very tail end of finishing my book & planning to embark on new ventures: getting articles published & doing podcasts, new activities that are meant to work in concert with a book launch this year. I’m glad that I’m feeling rejuvenated after my trip to Africa in December, I’m going to need all the energy I have, as well as a few more hours in the day if possible. ha ha

I know, 1 crummy pic with some wilder beasts after a month in Africa…I’m sure you feel ripped off. It’s what I have at the moment & it’s better than nothing.

Africa was great, by the way. I saw all the animals on safari, zebra’s, elephants, giraffe’s, lions, etc. The hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti was thrilling. I also visited some local tribes & villages, learning about their culture. The last end I enjoyed a few relaxing days at the beach in Zanzibar. Hours reading (The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood), playing chess, making love, walking along the beach at sunset, eating good food & sleeping lots.

So, Happy New Year! 2018 is off with a bang for me, it looks like it’s going to be a busy one.

Some misguided critter recently tried to shame or insult me by calling me an escort. I would have been more insulted if they had accused me of being the kind of person who would try to shame someone for being an escort.

Even if we’re accepted & supported by our loved ones in our choices, no one prays that their little girl will grow up to be a sex worker & most won’t brag about it. The whole adult industry is stigmatized.

Women have been using their bodies & sexuality to make money for a very long time in a lot of different ways, not just in adult work. Some do it because they want to & they like it, they find it empowering, some do it for money, sometimes both. It does nothing to benefit anyone to try to shame women for it. If most men could do it they would & I doubt they would have any shame about it.

What people choose to do for work does not define who they are or all that they are. Women in the adult industry are also mothers, daughter, sisters, friends, animal lovers, Trekkies, gamers, teachers, foodies, therapists, painters, swimmers, pilots, volunteers, writers, sports fans, musicians, travelers, gamblers, sexual assault survivors, recovering alcoholics..they might be struggling with mental illness, mourning the death of a loved one, be fighting a legal battle with an ex, be caring for an elderly family member, be dealing with PTSD, be studying to get a new job outside of the industry, be working toward a personal goal or be helping someone else to get in or out of the industry…I could go on & on because every woman doing adult work has a story, a unique personality & a life beyond her job.

So, keep this in mind the next time you find yourself or hear someone else judging, objectifying or shaming a person in the adult industry.

Lucky Guy
